Justin Arini named boys lacrosse coach at Shoreham-Wading River
Justin Arini, a former Ward Melville goaltender under retired Hall of Fame coach Joe Cuozzo, Wednesday was named boys lacrosse coach at Shoreham-Wading River.
Arini, a guidance counselor at Shoreham-Wading River, was an assistant boys lacrosse coach last spring at Huntington. Before that, Arini had been an assistant men's lacrosse coach at New York Tech and Manhattan College. He played goalie in college for Alfred State.
Arini takes over for longtime SWR coach Tom Rotanz, who guided the Wildcats to five Long Island championships, including the last two, and two state titles, in 2002 and 2012, in 19 seasons. Shoreham-Wading River superintendent Steven Cohen announced in the fall that Rotanz's contract would not be renewed.
