Kayla Collins, November Suffolk Scholar Artist

Kayla Collinsis a senior at Walt Whitman High School. She has been an integral part of the Whitman Dance Program for four years. Kayla has performed at the Walt Whitman Birthplace and at Hofstra University for the Democracy Project for the 2012 presidential debates.

She is an active member of the Walt Whitman Varsity Dance Team where she competes locally and nationally. Kayla has danced in the Whitman musicals Fiddler on the Roof, Pippin, Wonderful Town, and Damn Yankees. She is a current member of the National Honor Society, as well as the National Honor Society for Dance Arts.

In addition to dancing, Kayla joined the School of Rock where she learned to play drums and has performed at several venues around Long Island. Kayla plans to attend college in the Fall to study speech pathology.
