Loved ones are mourning the loss of a man who was killed in a car crash allegedly caused by a drunken driver.
Kevin Smith, 25, was killed when police say he got ejected from a Jeep Grand Cherokee just after midnight Thursday. Police say the car lost control and went up on a curb before it overturned on Edwards Street.
The driver, 24-year-old Joe Keleher, was arrested and charged with DWI. Prosecutors say he had a blood alcohol content that was nearly three times the legal limit. Keleher pleaded not guilty in court Thursday.
Smith's mother, Anne, says he was a recovering heroin addict and had been clean for 10 months after completing a sober living program.
