Kids get taste of art in mixed media class

Brookhaven’s Department of Parks and Recreation will begin offering mixed media for children ages 8 to 12 next week.
Participants will learn about artists, oil and pastel paintings, paper sculpting and how to create original artwork.
Classes for the six-week session are $30, plus a $5 materials fee due the first day. The Wednesday classes start July 11 at the Robert E. Reid Sr. Recreation Center from 4:40 to 6 p.m.
Cancellations, except by Brookhaven Town, are subject to a 15 percent administration handling fee.
