"The 12 Bugs of Christmas: A Pop-up Christmas Counting Book" (Little Simon; $12.99) by David A. Carter: Join the Bugs as they count down to Christmas in this mini holiday book, which features 12 different bugs on pop-up pages. A "buggy" twist to this popular holiday song.

Best for ages 3 to 6

"Aliens Love Panta Claus" (Aladdin; $16.99) by Claire Freedman, illustrated by Ben Cort: This hilarious tale from the creators of "Aliens Love Underpants" and "Dinosaurs Love Underpants" follows the aliens during the holiday season. The aliens love Christmas and Santa, so when Santa's sleigh breaks down on Christmas Eve, the aliens come to his rescue.

Best for ages 4 to 7

"Hanukkah: A Counting Book" (Scholastic; $6.99) by Emily Sper: Readers will learn about Hanukkah, as well as how to count all eight nights in Hebrew. Pronunciation guides help kids say the words, and die-cuts reveal the candles as they are lit each night.

Best for ages 1 and up

"Hanukkah Hop!" (Simon & Schuster; $12.99) by Erica Silverman, illustrated by Steven D'Amico: Hanukkah is a time to celebrate with family, and as Rachel and her parents prepare the house, her grand- parents, cousins and friends travel from near and far to join in the holiday tradition. Follow along as they light candles, play games, eat latkes and dance the Hanukkah Hop.
