Beth Feldman, a psychologist who focuses on the teen years, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Monday at North Shore Synagogue, 83 Muttontown Rd., Syosset. "You and Your Adolescent: The Essential Guide for Ages 10-25" by Laurence Steinberg (Simon & Schuster, $15) has been updated for this generation. Once defined as 13 to 18, adolescence now begins as early as 10 and extends to the mid-20s, he contends. Subjects include changing bodies and the parents' role in teens' education, including the college years.
"Rules of the Game for High School / College / Life," by Harvey J. Coleman (AuthorHouse, $28) explores the concept that whether in high school, college or career, people are in a competitive game all around you and there are unwritten rules that need to be followed to achieve success.
