I read "A Perfect Time for Pandas" by Mary Pope Osborne (Random House) because I really enjoy the Magic Tree House series. I wasn't disappointed.

Like all the Magic Tree House books, it follows the adventures of Jack and Annie as they travel through time. In this book, Jack and Annie are whisked away to China, landing next to a panda reserve.

The story is very exciting because they rush around trying to find their friend Merlin's beloved penguin, Penny. Of course, every Magic Tree House book teaches you about a famous historical event. This one happens to be about a famous earthquake. The book was very suspenseful because you didn't know if Jack and Annie were going to be able to rescue Penny, help pandas or survive the earthquake.
