Yaris, 40, of Plainview is the founder of consulting firm Literacy Builders and works with several Long Island school districts. She uses Twitter as a resource for teachers, providing tips, links to articles, and a constant reminder that educators should not write off the power of Twitter. “I don’t think enough educators are doing it [tweeting],” she said. “I think that educators need to know they can connect to people through tweeting.”
