Knicks fans paid some good money for Game 4 at MSG
Flare ups of raucous and violent behavior prompted the cancellation of the watch party outside Madison Square Garden, but it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm.
“We're a little brash, we're very vocal,” said Eric Cohen, originally of Westbury, who dropped $30,000 on two tickets. “We haven't seen success in a very long time. At the end of the day, we want to see our team win, whatever it takes.”
“I know they're getting canceled very close to the stadium, you know, you got to stay safe, but at the same time, I think the city's really come together, you see the things that are going on, you know, everywhere in Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, people are coming together.”
Plastic surgeon Ron Espinosa, 53, from Queens, brought his son to the game to watch the team get on step closer to history.
“The vibe is electric,” he said “There’s a little bit of nervousness, because they dropped Game 3. I'm 53 and I was born in March [1973], they won their last finals in May, so this is like a long time coming for a lot of people. It's like a dream come true to see them finally get here.”
He paid $60,000 for four tickets.
Bob and Linda Friedman, of Westchester, stood outside the arena with their daughter Lori Kestner, who lives on Long Island, after seeing her kids off to the game. The family had just had dinner together
They had paid $3,000 each for two tickets.
“It was terrific. It's a great experience. I'm glad I did it, and I'm glad they could have a great time, and I hope the knicks win,” Bob said.
