Kristen Stewart tops this year's Forbes magazine list of "Hollywood's Best Actors for the Buck."
The "Twilight" star, 21, returned $55.83 for every dollar paid her. She displaces last year's winner, Shia LaBeouf, who slips to No. 5, due mostly to the disappointing box office of "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps." Anne Hathaway ranks No. 2 ($45.67), thanks to "Alice in Wonderland" and a reasonable return on the relatively low-budget "Bride Wars." Robert Pattinson and Daniel Radcliffe were numbers three and four.,
The magazine derived its list by taking the 40 highest-earning Hollywood stars; totaling the worldwide box-office gross and DVD earnings of their last three major, non-animated films in the last five years; and subtracting the estimated costs of the film's budgets -- though not their marketing costs.
This explains how Pattison -- whose last three films included the non-blockbusters "Remember Me" and "Water for Elephants" -- ranked lower than co-star Stewart. Another reason is the list's arbitrary rule that a movie had to open on at least 500 screens -- giving Stewart a pass on her 2010 flop "The Runaways," which opened on just 244.
Stars showing the least return on investment this year are Drew Barrymore (forty cents for every dollar), Eddie Murphy ($2.70) and, surprisingly, Will Ferrell ($3.50), thanks to the bomb "Land of the Lost."
