The hunt for a gunman is still on after a 51-year-old Mastic Beach construction worker was fatally shot in the neck about 6 a.m. Monday.

The victim's co-workers and locals say they are shocked that such an event happened in what they thought was a safe neighborhood. Devon Moscarelli, who worked with the victim, is shaken up because the shooting happened so close to a supermarket on Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma.
