Langhorne spurs Greenport surge
Dantre Langhorne scored 11 of his game-high 27 points in the fourth quarter Tuesday as the Greenport boys basketball team overcame a late deficit for a 58-54 win over St. John the Baptist in a non-league game.
Langhorne had 10 rebounds and 10 assists, and Tremayne Hansen had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Porters, who trailed 43-34 after three quarters, but outscored the Cougars 24-11 in the fourth. Keith Williams had 18 points for St. John the Baptist.
Longwood 66, Commack 62:Paris Parks had 23 points and Josh Taylor 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead Longwood in a League I game. Dillon Hertel had 19 points and Mark Nembhard 18 points for Commack.
Floyd 43, Lindenhurst 39: Anthony White had seven of his 22 points during the third quarter to give Floyd a 31-29 lead after three quarters in a League I game. Aaron Wigger had five assists in the win.
Hauppauge 58, Huntington 54: Kyle Sutryk converted a three-point play with 1:35 left to give Hauppauge a four-point lead in a League IV game. John Velazquez had 22 points and eight rebounds in the win.
Bayport-Blue Point 54, East Hampton 49: Mike Falkenburgh hit a three-pointer near the end of regulation to tie the score at 47 before BBP won the League VI game in overtime. Adam Berlin scored 19 in the win.
Islip 62, Sayville 58: Fabian MacDonald scored 10 of his 18 points during the fourth quarter, including a two-pointer to put Islip up 60-56 with 30 seconds left in a League V contest. Andrew Oberg added 14 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocks in the win. Chris Lowe scored a game-high 24 points for Sayville.
Kings Park 73, Rocky Point 53: Nick Borkowski (20 points) and James Clutter (10 points) each had seven points during a 25-12 third quarter for Kings Park in a League V game. Matt Peixoto had 11 points and six steals and sophomore Craig Jeudy had a career-high 16 points in the win.
Eastport-South Manor 59, Miller Place 40:Curtis Smith had 19 points and six assists, and Nick Gratto had 12 points and six steals to lead Eastport-South Manor in a League V game. Jack Hepburn scored 13 points for Miller Place.
Amityville 76, Mount Sinai 60: Darien Croft had 23 points and five rebounds for Amityville in a League VI game. Billy Heenan and Willie White each scored 15 points for Amityville. Mike Guzzardi had 23 points for Mount Sinai.
Westhampton 62, Glenn 57:Michael Corrigan scored 30 points and went 6-for-6 from the line in the final minute to help seal it for Westhampton in a League VI game. Tony McGee scored 19 points for Glenn.
Uniondale 59, Massapequa 37:Shaq Mosley had 24 points, five rebounds and seven assists, and Roderick Epps had 14 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks for Uniondale in a Nassau Conference AA-I contest.
Plainview JFK 56, Hicksville 41: Greg Rankel scored nine of his 19 points during a 20-3 second quarter to lead Plainview JFK in a Conference AA-II game. Ben Strack had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Justin Bernstein seven points and five assists in the win. T.J. Danns had 11 points for Hicksville.
Sewanhaka 56, Hewlett 48: David Rust scored eight of his 14 points during a 23-13 first quarter and Kunle Ogunlowo had 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead Sewanhaka in a Conference A-II game. Josh Rivlin scored 20 points for Hewlett.
Malverne 63, Cold Spring Harbor 48: Ronald Spencer had 19 points and eight rebounds, Cory Alexander had 16 points and Anthony Moultre 10 points and 10 rebounds for Malverne in a Conference BC game. Anthony Terraciano scored 18 points for Cold Spring Harbor.
