Shoreham-Wading River will be facing Farmingdale in an intriguing non-league, inter-county boys lacrosse game on Friday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Dowling Complex on William Floyd Parkway. But the game isn’t the story.
The headline is that this is a Lax Out Cancer fund-raiser organized by the Shoreham-Wading River lacrosse community. Last year’s event raised more than $14,300 in three hours, with the money divided up among four worthy charities. Organizers are hoping to top that amount this year.
To that end, there is a $2 "admission for remission" charge, a raffle of lacrosse items, a sale of pink event T-shirts and ads to purchase for the event’s program.
