Rick Lazio launched a Web assault Friday on newly-minted Republican Steve Levy, basically saying his adversary for the GOP primary spot isn't a real Republican.

Lazio spokesman Barney Keller wrote a "Top 10" list with 10 purported facts about Levy.

Two items that stood out on Keller's list:

No. 4: "In January 2010, he said Andrew Cuomo would make a good governor."

No. 10: "He has said that he will not support Republicans running for office this year."

You can read the whole list here.

Additionally, Lazio campaign manager Kevin Fullington "welcomed" Levy to the race Friday.

The letter [Warning: The letter contains graphic language.] repeats many of the items in Keller's Top 10, then adds:

"We want to welcome Steve Levy to the race. Enough pleasantries. We want each New York citizen to look at -- and Steve Levy to explain -- a transcript of a wiretap of Steve Levy talking to people who would eventually be convicted of bribery. Look at the crass language he uses, and particularly pay attention to what he says about the Brookhaven Republican Party."

It gets even nastier on Twitter. Follow Keller's rants here.
