Lead the Way ‘Day of Heroes’
On Saturday, St. Anthony’s in Huntington will host a big-time three-game set featuring some of the area’s best boys lacrosse teams as part of the Lead the Way Fund’s Lacrosse Day of Heroes.
The event is in honor of Sgt. James J. Regan, a Chaminade graduate, former Duke lacrosse player and Army Ranger, who was killed in Iraq by a roadside bomb in February 2007 at age 26. He grew up in Manhasset.
The Lead the Way Fund is a non-profit organization established to raise funds in support of families of Army Rangers who have died, been disabled or are currently serving. All profits collected from Saturday’s all-day event – money from ticket sales, merchandise, food and drinks – are donated to the fund.
