Lennon helps North Shore girls lacrosse win

Kathleen Lennon three of her six goals in the second half as North Shore overcame a three-goal deficit for a 13-11 win over Massapequa Thursday in Nassau Conference I girls lacrosse.

Tess Korten scored with a little over five minutes left in the game to give North Shore (5-4), which outscored Massapequa 8-3 in the second half, a 12-11 lead. Sam Grabher scored two of her three goals in the second half and Kristen Giovanniello had 12 saves in the win.Hicksville 16, Carle Place 14: Shannon McDonald had five goals and Brittany Hoehing four goals and one assist for Hicksville (3-5) in Conference II. Kate Culhane tied the score at 14 with 9:35 left and Natalie Badalato (three goals) made it 15-14 with 5:41 left.

Islip 16, Bayport-Blue Point 13: Kerri Nicolich scored 25 seconds into the first overtime to give Islip (8-4 Division II) a 14-13 lead. Nicolich added another goal with 2:32 left in the second OT to make it 15-13. Kirsten Tramposch stopped five shots in the overtime sessions to seal it.BOYS

Locust Valley 7, Floral Park 5: Phil Merenda scored with two minutes left in the third to give Locust Valley (6-3 Conference IV) a 7-1 lead. Mike Martucci had two goals and an assist and Joe DellaFera added a goal and an assist in the win. Ward Melville 9, Middle Country 2: Kevin McElhone had five goals and Joe Bellavaia made seven saves for Ward Melville (11-2) in Division I.Floyd 13, Sachem North 8: D.J. Allen and Andrew Incantapulo each scored three goals to lead Floyd (8-5) in Division I. Steve Schaedler added two goals and an assist and Xavier Williams made 17 saves.Commack 12, Longwood 7: Matthew Brandel stopped 17 shots to lead Commack (8-5) in Division I. Chris Fast sparked the offense with four goals.Babylon 13, Westhampton 3: Andrew Hurst had five goals and one assist and scored three straight goals in a 5-1 third quarter for Babylon (6-6) in Division II.
