Let Rep. King do his diligence

Your letter-writer equates the recent shootings in Tucson and Nassau County with terrorism ["Rep. Peter King is fueling bitter divide," March 8]. These were unorganized, criminal attacks committed by deranged individuals.
The crushing destruction of Sept. 11, the attacks on the USS Cole and the Marine barracks in Lebanon, the attempted "shoe bombing" and Times Square car bomb all had one common denominator. The perpetrators were not Jews, Christians nor atheists, but all were Muslim.
Rep. King (R-Seaford) is rightfully exercising due diligence by holding hearings on the possible radicalization of Muslim youth in this country. The vast majority of Muslims are loyal, law-abiding Americans and should support his effort to find the few that are tainting their faith.
