As bad as it was that General Electric could earn $5 billion and not pay a cent in taxes, that fact pales in comparison to their latest outrage. GE is now planning to close a plant in Wisconsin that has been operating for over 100 years, and spend $2 billion in China ["GE health unit China-bound," News, July 26].

Where is the outrage in the media? Where is the National Labor Relations Board? When the Boeing Corporation planned to move some of its manufacturing capacity from Washington state to South Carolina, the NLRB filed suit to block the move. The last I heard, South Carolina was still part of the United States.

To add insult to injury, the chief executive of GE, Jeffrey Immelt, was appointed by President Barack Obama to be part of his jobs commission! Is it the policy of the jobs commission to ship manufacturing jobs overseas? I don't think so.

Obama should immediately remove Immelt from the jobs commission, and the American public should start an immediate boycott of GE and refuse to purchase any of their products until this unfortunate decision has been rescinded.
