Letter: Build housing for young Long Islanders

Affordable housing seems to be mostly geared toward people 55 and older. Rightfully so. However, with the never-ending brain drain that seems to be a major issue on Long Island, why not develop 35-and-under affordable housing?
The Nassau County Hub would be a good site, with Nassau Community College and Hofstra University so close by ["Ideas for Coliseum," News, Aug. 16]. It could consist of apartment complexes, shopping and possibly an arena, maybe not as large as the existing building, to host entertainment.
I would like to think that by age 35, people should be somewhat established and be able to afford to purchase a home on Long Island.
