Letter: Cain's tax plan a loss for seniors
Regarding Newsday's editorial against Herman Cain's 9-9-9 tax plan ["Nein, nein, nein to Cain's 9-9-9," Oct. 13]. I am a senior citizen, and I live primarily on my pension and Social Security. Cain's plan would be devastating to me and millions of other retirees.
To us, it would be just a 9 percent added sales tax, with little or no tax savings from the rest of the plan. Nobody seems to have addressed the issue of retirees.
