Letter: Condemn attack on Israel

Your article "Raids from Egypt hit Israel" [News, Aug. 19] was insulting to all Jews. Referring to the terrorists that ambushed the bus and killed innocent people, including a child, as "gunmen" and "militants" is an affront to all Western civilized people.
These were not militants or gunmen, these were terrorists. Can we conceive how our citizens would react if such an attack occurred on U.S. soil? On a much larger scale, wasn't that what Sept. 11 was?
Where is the outcry and outrage from the international community, specifically the United Nations? The constant theme throughout these cowardly terrorist attacks is that all Israel has ever wanted is peace within its borders; all the Arab countries throughout the world have ever wanted is the annihilation of Israel.
