Regarding "Don't miss out on health reform funds" [Editorial, July 20], as our leaders hold debt talks, President Barack Obama's health care plan will hurt our fragile economy by forcing people to buy insurance.

There is no legal defense for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The federal government should not have the power to force people to make a purchase, and that is based on the Constitution.

Once Americans are forced to buy this, what comes next? We could be forced to buy first-aid kits to help our fellow Americans. Why not force us to buy vitamins to keep us healthier? That would save on medical costs.

No, this power should belong to the states, and they should be allowed to handle it as they see fit. Obama should try concentrating on fighting Medicaid and Medicare fraud instead of eliminating our freedom.
