Regarding "America parks the moving vans for a while" [Opinion, Nov. 21], I can relate. My wife, toddler and I left Long Island in April. Our combined income was nice, more than $210,000. We found out that we could work in San Antonio, Texas, for the same money, and Texas doesn't have a state income tax. My commute time per day went from 3.5 hours to 20 minutes.

We're in San Antonio shopping for a McMansion on a golf course, in the best school district. Houses are less than 10 years old. Prices are $275,000 to $325,000.

Now that the baby boomers are retiring, I wonder if they'll put up with the taxes on Long Island? Will the young folks earning money like us get fed up en masse and realize the life they could have elsewhere? Long Island could be in for a rough 15 to 20 years unless things change. Not my problem anymore. Fore!
