Letter: Guldi's sentence isn't justice

An article, "1 to 3 years in mortgage case" [News, Sept. 1], noted that George Guldi, a former Suffolk County legislator and disbarred lawyer serving a 4- to 12-year sentence for insurance fraud, was also found guilty of an estimated $80-million mortgage fraud. He was sentenced to 1 to 3 years for this, to run concurrently with his present sentence.
This means that he will serve no time for the mortgage scam. Is this justice? If a poor man pleaded guilty to armed gas station robbery and came before this judge, what would the sentence have been? Five to 10 years' hard time? At the very least this judge should be investigated. There was only injustice here.
