Regarding "Long Island needs new poverty cutoff" [Letters, Oct. 6], in our troubling economy today, the middle class are finding themselves in financial distress and unable to pay their bills. Our charity, Belief for Relief, provides monetary assistance to families who are facing debt they are unable to manage.

Unlike conventional assistance that the government provides, Belief for Relief has no income guidelines for applicants. We encourage all to apply, or to make a donation to help a neighbor. Please visit BeliefforRelief.org.
