Newsday's article "Salaries better on LI" [News, Aug. 20] is only half a story. Where is the other half? Where are the offsets to these higher salaries?
No mention of the higher gas prices here. We're still paying $100-a-barrel prices at the pump, when prices have dropped to about $82 a barrel. No mention of our taxes being the highest in the nation. No mention of the Long Island Power Authority and National Grid and water bills and their increasing rates. What about the ever-increasing Long Island Rail Road monthly tickets?
Come on, be fair, and show and tell both sides of the story.
