Newsday's editorial "Cardiac arrest too often fatal" [Aug. 17], points out that not enough Nassau and Suffolk residents know CPR. I suggest that all the libraries in Nassau and Suffolk offer free instruction for Long Islanders to learn "hands only" CPR. In addition, high schools should provide such classes for their students.

If more people know how to do "hands only" CPR, there will be many fewer deaths from cardiac arrest.
