As our economy is diving, our politicians are on vacation and politicking instead of repairing the damage they've done, first with the debt crisis and then with the downgrading of our debt. If this were a Fortune 500 company, do you think the board of directors would be on vacation now? No, they'd be in their offices trying to save themselves and their company. That's what we should be doing: working on fixing our company, the United States of America.

We are all shareholders of this country, as we pay taxes and make investments by purchasing Treasury notes and municipal bonds. We should begin by bringing our men and women back home, saving a billion dollars a day which could be spent on the infrastructure. This would create jobs, give Americans the health insurance they deserve, and bring in tax revenue the country needs.

This should be the first agenda of our government officials: to work for the people, not their pockets, their power and their party. As shareholders of the United States, we should write and call our elected officials and tell them to work for us, or they won't have jobs after the next election.
