I think it would be great, like your opinion piece says, to make obesity a disease . No one should be responsible for the food they put in their mouth, because there are too many good restaurants on Long Island and too many cooking shows.

It will be very easy for doctors to diagnose the disease: "Please step on the scale." Most bodily ailments can probably be answered by the words "lose weight." Your knees hurt? Lose weight. You have no stamina? Lose weight. You have trouble sleeping? Lose weight. Your back hurts? Lose weight. You have diabetes? Lose weight.

Thank heaven Dr. Michael Kaplan says this is a disease; I was beginning to think I had so many health issues because I ate too much and exercised too little.
