I read that the Long Island Power Authority received low marks in a national survey on customer satisfaction ["LIPA cost-efficient," News, Aug. 18].

I just want to say that LIPA did an amazing job after lightning struck the utility pole outside my house on Aug. 14 and knocked out the power. The workers were out in the pouring rain and restored the power in six hours. On Thursday they replaced the pole in less than two hours, with minimal disruptions to my service. They also were wonderful during the March 2010 storm when a tree fell on that same pole. Keep up the excellent work and service LIPA!
