The article about Lisa Murphy, daughter of Sen. Alfonse D'Amato, landing the newly created job as Nassau County human services commissioner is just over the top ["Murphy gets new position," Spin Cycle, Aug. 8].

I didn't know Nassau had an extra $105,000, plus benefits, in the treasury. And for every legislator including my own Denise Ford (R-Long Beach) to back this appointment shows how little they all care for working people. There are three adults in my home who cannot obtain any gainful employment, but there is plenty available for the D'Amatos.
