Bronx gang attacks provoke outrage

I could barely read about the despicable acts of those Latin gang members on those two gay victims and one's brother .

Gang mentality continues to confound me. I wonder what can possibly evoke such hatred toward someone, other than buying into some ignorant notion of what a "man" is supposed to act like. Performing these brutal acts on outnumbered, innocent victims is hardly the work of an honorable man. These acts are cowardly.

I am outraged by the egregious hate-mongers in the Bronx. There are far too many attacks on gays. I thought that we had come a long way since the Stonewall riots, and that we had learned to respect others with different sexual orientations. We are not as civilized as I thought. The beast still lives within.

These perpetrators should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. We need to put an end to these cowardly acts once and for all. We need to educate our youth that hate is not the way and we need to love one another, no matter who we are.

Deny Hevesi pension

Now that Alan Hevsei has admitted to selling access to the pension system he oversaw , not only should he pay full restitution plus appropriate fines, he should also lose any claim to a public pension.

In the name of true justice, let's get a state law on the books to guarantee that anyone serving or working in a position with a public pension (city, state county or town) who is caught gaming or stealing from the system they serve, forfeit their full pension benefit upon conviction of the crime.

Corporate tax breaks

Corporations do not hire because they pay less taxes. They hire on need.

Want to fix the economy? Let the tax cuts expire for people who clear over $250,000 a year and put that money into fixing our roads. Hiring more construction workers will reduce unemployment, increase the tax base, and provide better, safer roads. Logic 101.
