Steve Levy's $4 million campaign fund is no more. Suffolk DA Thomas Spota's office has sent the last $865,000 unclaimed by donors to 33 nonprofits and charities. The largest awards: $50,000 each to the county Legal Aid Society, Disabled American Veterans Transportation Network, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Marty Lyons Foundation. The smallest: $10,000 each to the North Shore Youth Council and the Wyandanch Little League. Ex-county treasurer John Cochrane was paid $75,000 for overseeing an effort that included reaching donors, verifying donations, and issuing checks, which required paid staff.-- Rick Brand
