LI Challenge: Farmingdale Reaction

Farmingdale was a gracious (and victorious) host for Saturday’s Long Island Challenge. The event featured four games, Suffolk vs. Nassau, with Farmingdale’s 8:30 p.m. matchup with Eastport-South Manor being the nightcap.

The event went smoothly (‘least as far as I know) and it was a festive atmosphere. Props to Barbara Brescia (Samantha’s mother) and Laurie Kolodny (Kim’s mother), who helped organize the event.

* Before Farmingdale's game, assistant coach and MSG Varsity analyst Tracy Wiener was honored for her illustrious career and this year's induction into the Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Foundation's Hall of Fame. Former Daler and current Cold Spring Harbor coach Danielle Skakandi had a wonderful introductory speech. Congrats, Wiener!

As for the game...

Nadine Hadnagy had five goals and an assist as Farmingdale beat Eastport-South Manor, 17-11. Amanda Turturro added four goals and two assists, Kim Kolodny scored four goals, and Colleen Reynolds had two goals, two assists and three groundballs.

We’ll start with Diana Prendergast, who did an excellent job singing the national anthem before the games (a lovely rendition of the classic without many twists and alterations), and then performing well defensively.
