LI nonprofits get $125G in grants
Five Long Island nonprofits and a group based in Manhattan were granted $125,000 this month
The fund, which is administered by the Long Island Community Foundation, was set up by the Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program at Shelter Rock in Manhasset.
It was created from a bequest made by Caroline Veatch in 1959.
Two recipients are affiliated with Adelphi University in Garden City: The Adelphi University Institute for Parenting will receive $20,000 for advocacy in the Nassau County child welfare system, and the Long Island Center for Nonprofit Leadership at Adelphi will receive $40,000 to support Long Island’s nonprofits.
