TRAFFIC AND TRANSIT

Traffic is mostly light around Long Island. Many schools are closed Friday for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year.

MELVILLE: There is an accident on the LIE westbound approaching Route 110.

COMMACK: There is an accident on Jericho Turnpike westbound at Route 454.

PORT JEFFERSON STATION: There is long-term road construction on Route 347 in both directions between Williams Street and Route 112.

WEATHER

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy with a high of 72.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy in the evening, then clear with a low of 55.

SATURDAY: Partly cloudy with a high of 79.
