The southbound Meadowbrook State Parkway reopened shortly before 7 a.m. Monday after a fatal overnight crash closed all lanes of traffic for several hours and forced commuters to take alternative routes.

WANTAGH PARKWAY. A downed tree was blocking the right southbound lane at Exit W6 (Merrick Road), as of 9:30 a.m.
