TRAFFIC AND TRANSIT

GREENVALE: Route 25A is closed in both directions between Glen Cove Road and Route 101 due to road construction.

WEST ISLIP: The left lane is closed on the Robert Moses Causeway southbound approaching Ocean Parkway due to road construction.

WEATHER

Wednesday will be overcast with a high of 70 and a 40 percent chance of rain in the afternoon. Wednesday night's low will dip to 45, with a 30 percent chance of rain.

TODAY IN HISTORY

This date in history is also "Black Tuesday," where on Oct. 29, 1929, nervous sellers traded around 16 million shares on the stock market, causing the Dow Jones to drop nearly 12 percent. This act is attributed to aiding to the onset of the Great Depression.
