BOARDS & ASSOCIATIONS
The Long Island Real Estate Group, a real estate networking and philanthropic group, has elected new officers.

Sam Yedid of Hewlett Harbor was elected co-president. He is a partner at the Melville law firm Lazer, Aptheker, Rosella & Yedid, where he co-chairs the real estate practice group.

Brad Cronin of Manhasset was elected co-president and is a partner at Cronin, Cronin and Harris in Mineola, where he focuses his practice on property tax reduction law.

Steven Krieger, a principal at Garden City-based Engel Burman Group, was elected executive vice president, a new post. The Roslyn resident is an attorney, builder and developer of commercial properties and multifamily housing developments.

Charles Alter was elected co-vice president. He is a partner at Louis Lefkowitz Realty, a Jericho property ownership and management firm. He lives in Lido Beach.

Peter Schapero was also elected co-vice president. He is a partner with the insurance brokerage Signature Group of Companies LLC, and lives in Huntington.

Dr. David Shenouda, a cardiologist with Three Village Cardiology in East Setauket, has been appointed to the board of directors at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson. Shenouda is already a member of Mather Hospital's medical board. The Dix Hills resident is also an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Stony Brook University School of Medicine.

EDUCATION
Lynn Johnson has been named vice president of human resource services at Stony Brook University. She was promoted from assistant vice president. In her new position, she will also serve as chief human resource officer for state and research foundation employees at the west campus, in the health sciences center, at Stony Brook Manhattan, Stony Brook Southampton and at the Research & Development Park. Johnson is a Stony Brook resident.

NONPROFIT
Alexandra Nigolian of Manhattan has been named executive director of the Nassau County Police Department Foundation, a public-private partnership dedicated to building and maintaining the Nassau County Center for Law Enforcement Training and Intelligence. She was most recently executive director of the National Law Enforcement and Firefighters Children's Foundation in Manhattan.

REAL ESTATE
Samuel Marcus
has been promoted to assistant manager of the Roslyn office of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty. The Manhasset resident was promoted from associate broker, a position he held at the Manhasset location.

Saunders & Associates has announced two additions:

Krae Van Sickle has joined the Bridgehampton office as a senior vice president. He is a licensed associate real estate broker and most recently served as senior vice president at The Corcoran Group in its Amagansett and Montauk offices. Van Sickle is an East Hampton resident.

Lylla Carter has joined the Southampton office, also as senior vice president. The licensed real estate saleswoman recently served as a senior vice president at The Corcoran Group in Southampton, which is also where she lives.
