Barry V. Pittman has been named to the board of trustees of Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation in West Islip. The Brightwaters resident is a sole law practitioner with an office in Bay Shore.

Leora Halpern Lanz has been elected membership director of the South Huntington Jewish Center. The Huntington resident is director of marketing at the Mineola office of HVS, an international hospitality services company.

Rene P. Fiechter has been elected president of the Long Island American Academy for Professional Law Enforcement. The Northport resident is an assistant district attorney and director of community affairs for the Nassau County District Attorney.
