Brookhaven Towns plans to celebrate Independence Day with a bang — musically and pyrotechnically.

The town’s annual July 4th Salute to America  will feature a free concert of patriotic music performed by the Long Island Philharmonic at the Brookhaven Amphitheater at Bald Hill, located on Bicycle Path in Farmingville. The concert will be followed by fireworks by the Grucci company.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. on July 4 with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

“Our annual July 4th fireworks show is a favorite of so many residents and we are happy to have the Long Island Philharmonic perform this year,” said Supervisor Mark Lesko. The Philharmonic is also scheduled to perform a free concert at the same venue on Aug. 14, Lesko said.

No food or drinks are permitted in the amphitheater. A limited amount of permanent seating is available in addition to lawn seating.
