The Garden City-based Long Island Plastic Surgical Group will be blue Friday.

Blue as in Go Giants! Many of the 140-member staff of doctors, nurses and administrative personnel in Garden City and at the company's other locations will be wearing Giant blue to show support for the NFL team nicknamed Big Blue that will be playing the San Francisco 49ers in San Francisco Sunday evening.

"It's going to be mandatory blue," said executive director Gary Blank. "We wanted to show the spirit." Blank said no staff member raised objections. "We're a spirited place," Blank said.

Director of nursing Teresa Barroca said nurses will wear blue blouses and blue and white lab coats. Doctors will wear blue shirts and staff in the operating rooms will wear blue scrubs. "Everyone [at the company] is talking" about the game, Barroca said. "I was supposed to do something boring this weekend," she said. "My husband made me cancel it to watch the game."

To heighten the day, former New York Giant punter Sean Landeta is expected to show up at Long Island Plastic Surgical for a pregame lunch.
