LI vodka mogul sees joy in candy-cane flavor

Don't ever count Long Island vodka mogul Martin Silver out when it comes to hopping onto a holiday bandwagon.
Silver, president of Syosset-based Star Industries, which makes and distributes Georgi vodka, loves flavored beverages. His company has come out this year with Georgi Candy Cane Flavored Vodka.
Silver tells us it tastes like peppermint candy. We like our vodka straight, but Silver is more ambitious in his tastes.
His company offers more than a dozen flavors. He said 21- to 34-year-olds like the flavored vodkas. "I like to try what the majority of customers are trying," Silver said.
The Candy Cane Flavored vodka is on regional shelves, selling for about $14, depending on the retailer.
