An attorney for former Duke lacrosse player Collin Finnerty of Garden City said Friday the North Carolina state attorney general made the right decision not to prosecute the woman who falsely accused Finnerty and two other players of raping her, the Raleigh News & Observer reported.

"I really don't feel in my gut any need to go charge" the accuser, lawyer Wade Smith of Raleigh said. The woman had a history of alcohol abuse and psychological instability that District Attorney Michael Nifong failed to investigate, Smith said.
