Because of  the stormy weather Sunday, the Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society  rescheduled its celebration of National Lighthouse Day for  Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011.

Tours of the Huntington Lighthouse will depart Gold Star Batallion Beach every 45 minutes from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The suggested donation is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for children under 12 and $20 for a family of four. Children under 5 are not permitted.

The proceeds will go to the ongoing restoration of the lighthouse and the needed replacement of the boulders in the rock foundation supporting the structure.

Check www.huntingtonlighthouse.org or call 631-421-1985 for more information.

Additional funds for the project will come from Musicfest the Saturday before Labor Day.

Musicians will play from the lighthouse roof to entertain an audience that typically comes on more than 600 boats to anchor nearby.

More details are available on www.lighthousemusicfest.com.
