If you haven’t seen Linda McMahon’s new senate campaign commercial, please take a look. You might recognize some familiar faces: Undertaker, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Stone Cold Steve Austin, just to name a few.

McMahon calls the WWE a “soap opera” that entertains millions every week. She goes on to say that it isn’t real, but the problems facing Connecticut are. I’m not really looking for any kid of reaction on this because we all know that the WWE is a form of a soap opera.

Some within the internet wrestling community jumped all over this. But why? Vince McMahon said years ago that this isn’t wrestling or sports, instead “sports entertainment.” Why jump all over Linda?

I’m no Dan Janison, but I think it’s a good idea that Linda is using the WWE in at least one ad for her campaign. Why hide the 800 pound gorilla in the room. Everyone knows her background and where she came from. Face it head-on, Linda. It’s a good idea.

She was a heck of a good CEO from a business stand-point and made a ton of money for the company she helped build. Some have given her flack for a lot of the deaths in pro wrestling, especially those 40-years-old or younger. Whether that will be her downfall remains to be seen.

I’ll be back after Raw with some thoughts on the show and the new GM.
