The Lindenhurst Memorial Library will host its second annual LML Outdoor Concert Series starting Wednesday in the library’s backyard.

The free series, which will include seven concerts throughout the summer all beginning at 7 p.m., will highlight performers from all over Long Island, said Sara Fiorenzo, community service and publicity organizer of Lindenhurst Memorial Library.

The library, located on Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst, holds more than a dozen concerts throughout the year, showcasing tribute bands, country music singers and other local musicians.

The concert series Wednesday features Steve Mitchell of Massapequa performing as Elvis.

Fiorenzo said each concert can bring  in well over 100 people. “It used to just be seniors,” Fiorenzo said. “Now, as I vary [the type of music] I noticed families are coming out and their kids dance around.”

The concerts, which will highlight several genres of music, will include a performance by Tommy Sullivan, an original member of Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge. On Aug. 3, Sullivan will play the keyboard, guitar, saxophone and flute as well as talk of his days with the band, Fiorenzo said.

Fiorenzo hopes to see a record-breaking audience this year for the library concert series.

“Performers from other concerts seem to come to check out the competition and they say ‘oh can you book me?’ ” Fiorenzo said.
