Lindenhurst Oktoberfest to offer food, beer, rides

Lindenhurst Village is hosting an Oktoberfest celebration this weekend.

The event, sponsored by the village and the Lindenhurst Rotary Club, kicks off Friday night at 5 and runs until 9 p.m. It continues Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Friday and Saturday, Oktoberfest will feature rides, games and food. Sunday will have a street festival with live entertainment, traditional German food and a beer garden, arts and crafts and food vendors and a classic/antique car show.

Saturday is “Kids Day” with all rides at $2 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the midway, located at the intersection of West Hoffman Avenue and School Street. On Sunday, the street festival will close down Wellwood Avenue from John Street south to Gates Avenue.
