Energy upgrades to save Lynbrook $27G
Lynbrook Village will save $27,000 annually because of energy efficiency upgrades identified by the Long Island Power Authority.
The upgrades include implementing lighting controls and improvements at Lynbrook Village Hall and the village’s library, recreation center, offices, maintenance garage and storage garage, officials said.
LIPA made the upgrades through its Efficiency Long Island/Commercial Efficiency Program, an agency spokesman said.
“The energy efficiency measures taken by the Village under this initiative will have the equivalent effect of reducing 14 cars from the road for one year or 8,715 gallons of gas not consumed for a year,” LIPA spokesman Mark Gross said in a statement.
Lynbrook is expected to save 148,000 kilowatt hours per year because of the upgrades, Gross said.
