Sam Kille, a spokesman for the Metro New York Red Cross region, says he’s gotten calls from media members two minutes after tweeting information, proving its effectiveness. Tweets range from weather-related emergencies to fires the Red Cros responds to. And for an organization that relies on generosity, says Kille, “It’s a real simple way when you have a significant donor or sponsor of an event to say thank you for that.”
